SHOTOKAN KARATE
Shotokan is a traditional non-contact Japanese martial art. Techniques taught are equally divided between blocking, punching and kicking techniques
BENEFITS--ADULTS:
A safe and worthwhile way to get in shape, karate builds stamina and muscle strength. Karate provides an aerobic as well as an anaerobic form of exercise while at the same time teaching self-defense. It is excellent for improving coordination as well as building self-confidence in people of all ages.
BENEFITS---YOUTH:
KARATE is great for kids. It teaches discipline, improves self-esteem, channels aggression, enhances assertiveness and develops lifetime self-defense and safety skills. Here at Kaizen we work on anger management and conflict avoidance along with regular karate skills. Proper etiquette inside and outside the training hall is stressed and students do not promote to the next belt rank without permission from both parents and teachers.
We are members of the International Shotokan
Karate Federation (ISKF) headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
